A trip to this Museum was made by the ABIW some years back but I have been asked by several of our members to organize a visit, so here are the details:
Two million passengers travelled from Antwerp, (the main European port for the Red Star Line) to North America between the years of 1873 and 1934. This museum focuses on their stories, that of the Red Star Line and that of Antwerp the city and port where the embarked on their journeys. In a nutshell this museum invites you on the eventful journey in the footsteps of emigrants in search of a new life in the New World.
The museum is situated at: Montevideostraat 3, 2000 Antwerp.
Meet up at 10.30 am.
To get there by public transport, take Tram 7 and get off at terminus Sint-Pietersvliet – 10-15 min walk or take Bus 17 and get off at terminus Brouwersvliet – 10 min walk
