Since 1894, the herb-flavored liqueur Elixir d’Anvers has been distilled on Haantjeslei in ‘t Zuid in Antwerp. Our tour will start in the Director’s Office which is largely unchanged from its original design and furnishing. Then our guide will take us through the distillery telling us about the history of the company and its production processes. To make our tour complete, we will enjoy tasting three of their liqueurs: Elixir d’Anvers, Elixir de Spa and Advocaat Extra FX de Beukelaer.

 Where: Haantjeslei 132, Antwerp

Time: 1 PM. The tour will last 2 to 2^1/₂ hours. Please plan to arrive by 12:45 so we can take our group photo and start on time.

Getting there: From Antwerp Central Station, use the Astrid Metro stop. Take Tram 8 (towards Zuid) ride for 10 minutes/4 stops and get off at Bres. Walk back towards the city to De Vrierestraat and cross the Leien. Continue straight ahead to Den Bell. Keep Den Bell to your left and walk along St Laureistraat, turn left onto Haantjeslei and continue to 132. Total walking time from the tram: 12 minutes.

From Groenplaats, take Bus 22, ride 11 minutes/6 stops and get off at Ballarstraat, just past the Vishal fish shop. Walk further down Lange Lozanastraat to Durletstraat and turn right. Continue on Durlet, turn right onto Haantjeslei and you’re there. Total walking time from the bus: 5 minutes.
