Pilotage on the River Scheldt

Our speaker for November will be Paul Lauwereins, who was a marine pilot (river pilot) for 34 years and senior pilot for 22 years.

He also served on the board of the professional association of river pilots (Beroepsvereniging van Loodsen), was delegate of the association to the European Maritime Pilot Association (EMPA), and secretary-general of EMPA from 1989 until 1993. He remained on the board of the Association as Journal Editor till 1998.
